The late 1950s were important years for Burt Glinn, who joined Magnum photo agency in 1951. It was during this period that he documented the desegregation of Little Rock High, Nikita Khrushchev in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to New York, as well as profiles of Sammy Davis Jr., Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Katherine Hepburn. Here, he captures the Tower of David and the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem as seen through an olive grove.
